Jigawa State Launches 12-Member Committee to Combat Adulteration

In a move to curb the prevalence of adulteration in business activities across Jigawa state, the state government has inaugurated a 12-member Consumer Protection Committee. The committee, headed by Umar Alhaji Bala and secretary Nasiru Muhammad, is tasked with checking the sale of adulterated products in the state.

According to Commissioner of Commerce, Cooperative, and Tourism, Alhaji Aminu Kanta, Governor Malam Umar Namadi mandated the Ministry to establish the committee to ensure fairness and honesty in trade. The commissioner, who inaugurated the committee on Friday, emphasized the importance of promoting understanding between buyers and sellers in the state.

“We urge members of the committee to fear God in the discharge of their duties and to work diligently to achieve the desired goals,” said Alhaji Kanta, commending the governor for approving the establishment of the committee.

Chairman of the Committee, Umar Alhaji Bala, expressed gratitude to the government for the opportunity and assured that the committee will do everything possible to actualize the government’s objectives. He called on members of the committee to work collectively to combat adulteration and ensure the welfare of consumers in the state.

The establishment of the committee is a significant step towards promoting fair trade practices in Jigawa state, and the international community is watching with interest as the state government takes proactive measures to address the issue of adulteration.

In conclusion, the Consumer Protection Committee’s primary goal is to safeguard the rights of consumers by preventing the sale of adulterated products in the state.
