Tems Addresses Pregnancy Rumors, Questions Future’s Reputation

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has finally addressed the rumors surrounding her supposed pregnancy with American rapper Future. The rumors began circulating after Tems was spotted at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show in December, wearing a black dress with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels. Many believed the dress was clinging to her body, suggesting she was pregnant.

Appearing on a recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’, Tems questioned the choice of Future, who was allegedly responsible for her supposed pregnancy. She wondered why those behind the rumors didn’t claim Wizkid or Drake was responsible for her supposed pregnancy. "People just take the most controversial things. Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest," she said.

Tems also revealed that she finds it puzzling that Future was chosen as the supposed father of her child, given his reputation as a ladies’ man. "He has about five kids. And has a reputation of being a ladies’ man," she pointed out.

In addition to addressing the pregnancy rumors, Tems also shared her inspiration from top rap artists. She mentioned Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J.Cole as some of the artists who have influenced her music. Notably, she was featured in Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album in 2021, and J.Cole was one of only two featured artistes on her debut album, ‘Born In The Wild’, which was released this year.

Tems’ comments on ‘The Breakfast Club’ provide a rare glimpse into her thoughts on the pregnancy rumors and her inspiration from the music industry.
