Security Tightens Ahead of Edo Governorship Polls

Security Beefed Up Ahead of Elections in Nigeria

As Nigeria prepares to go to the polls to elect a new governor, security operatives have been deployed in large numbers to maintain order and ensure a peaceful voting process. According to reports, voters have already started arriving at their designated polling centers.

The Nigerian Army and police have blocked several major roads and streets in the state, including Agho and Joromi junctions, Ekenwa road, and Oba market Road, among others. This has made it difficult for motorists to pass through these areas.

The security measures have been implemented to prevent any potential unrest or violence that could disrupt the electoral process. The Nigerian Army has also deployed Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) at strategic locations, including Akakpava road by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The presence of these security operatives has been described as a proactive measure to ensure the safety of voters and prevent any attempts to disrupt the voting process. The Nigerian Army and police are working together to provide a secure environment for citizens to exercise their democratic rights.

As the country awaits the outcome of the election, the security measures are expected to remain in place until the results are announced. The people of Nigeria are hopeful that the election will be peaceful and transparent, and that the new governor will be elected through a fair and democratic process.
