Ex‑military governor of Kwara State, Group Capt. Salaudeen Latinwo (retd), has expressed support for the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Latinwo disclosed his endorsement in a statement sent from the United Kingdom via email on Friday to journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State. He also backed the second‑term bid of the state governor, Abdul Rahman Abdul Razaq.
Latinwo served as the military governor of Kwara State from January 1984 to August 1985. He explained his decision by noting that Tinubu has, over the years, demonstrated sincerity of purpose, honesty, and a high level of integrity in governance, endearing himself to the hearts of the people. He described the former Lagos governor as a man of the people, widely acknowledged across Kwara State and the entire country.
In urging support for Abdul Razaq, the elder statesman praised the governor’s honesty, hard work, sagacity and intelligence. Latinwo urged voters to cast their ballots for Abdul Razaq, adding, “He is a man of high integrity. As a result, we should reward him by casting our votes for him and his party in Kwara State.”
