Rodri ruled out for season after ACL surgery

Manchester City Midfielder Rodri Ruled Out for the Rest of the Season

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that midfielder Rodri will miss the remainder of the season due to a serious injury. The 28-year-old suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage during last weekend’s draw with Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Rodri underwent surgery on Friday morning and will not play for the club again until next season.

Guardiola expressed his disappointment at the news, saying, “He had surgery this morning, ACL and some meniscus. This season is over. Unfortunately, we got the worst news, but it is what it is at this level. Sometimes, unfortunately, it happens. We are just there to support him.” The injury is a significant blow to Manchester City’s chances of winning the Premier League title for a fifth consecutive year.

The news comes as a setback for Manchester City, who are currently top of the league after five fixtures. They will be looking to bounce back from this loss and continue their strong start to the season. The team’s next match is away at Newcastle United on Saturday, and they will be hoping to come away with a win to maintain their position at the top of the table.

Manchester City will now have to rely on their other midfielders to fill the void left by Rodri’s absence. The club will be hoping that the injury is not too severe and that Rodri will make a full recovery in time for next season.
