The Edo State Governor-Elect, Monday Okpebholo, returned to Benin City on Friday, greeted by a sea of supporters who thronged the Benin Airport to welcome him back from Abuja. The trio had visited President Bola Tinubu in Abuja just days after Okpebholo’s decisive win in the September 21 governorship poll. In a bid to thank the people of Edo for their support, Okpebholo embarked on a thank-you road tour around major streets in Benin City, accompanied by his Deputy Governor-Elect, Philip Shaibu, and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the tour, Okpebholo reassured the people of Edo that he was committed to fulfilling his campaign promises and working for their benefit. He expressed his desire to bring development to the state, promising to make a positive impact on the lives of Edo citizens.

The governor-elect’s words were met with cheers and applause from the enthusiastic crowd, who gathered to catch a glimpse of their incoming leader. The warm welcome was a testament to the high level of enthusiasm and expectation surrounding Okpebholo’s administration.
