Labour Party Accuses Abia Governor of Monkeying with Local Government Polls

The Julius Abure-led National Working Committee of the Labour Party, Nigeria, has accused the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, of attempting to monopolise the process of electing candidates for the upcoming November 2 local government polls. The committee, heading the electoral process, condemns the governor’s moves as a potential threat to democratic principles and the autonomous administration of local governments granted by the Supreme Court.
