Police Chief Presents N48.6 Million in Cheques to Families of Deceased Officers

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has shown his commitment to the welfare of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice by presenting cheques worth N48,681,738.48k to 22 families of deceased officers who died in active-service, as well as those who were injured in accidents while carrying out their duties in Kogi State.

According to the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, the cheques were presented by the State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, on behalf of the IGP. The gesture is part of the welfare packages aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased officers and supporting officers who are victims of accidents. The statement also highlighted the importance of encouraging other officers in active service to be diligent.

The IGP expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased officers and recognized the sacrifices made by fallen heroes. He reiterated his commitment to improving the welfare of officers, including those serving, retired, and deceased. The accident victims were advised to take care of themselves, while the deceased families were encouraged to use the money to improve their living conditions.
