Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has voiced his discontent over the economic challenges facing the nation, suggesting that this year would be the perfect time for P-Square to re-release their 2009 hit song, E No Easy, which speaks to the struggles of everyday life amid hardship.
In a post on Snapchat, Gold expressed his frustrations, hinting that if the song were to be released now, he’d eagerly join in on a verse to capture his own feelings about the country’s current economic climate. “Na this year Psquare suppose sing E No Easy. Make them feature me, make I express my feelings for verse 3,” he wrote.
E No Easy, originally part of P-Square’s Danger album, was a song that resonated widely in 2009 with its theme of resilience through tough times. In 2012, the song saw renewed popularity in a bilingual French-English version titled Positif, produced by Matt Houston and P-Square, which became a hit in France.
Amid Nigeria’s economic woes, Gold’s comments reflect the sentiments of many Nigerians who continue to navigate the impacts of inflation and rising costs.
