Alex Iwobi Inspires Youth Through Music and Football

Nigerian international footballer Alex Iwobi is on a mission to motivate young people by blending his passions for football and music. The 28-year-old midfielder recently launched his second single, “What’s Luv?”, which features his close friend SPKS and the rising artist MBrown.

Iwobi’s foray into music follows the release of his debut single, “Don’t Shoot,” earlier this year in June. His artistic endeavors are more than just a hobby; they stem from a heartfelt desire to inspire youth to pursue their dreams.

In an interview with BBC Sport, Iwobi reflected on his upbringing in a challenging area of London. “Growing up in an area of London that is challenging for some people, I know how hard it can be, and I’m grateful to have a platform to try and make a difference,” he shared.

His latest track serves as a platform for a broader message: young individuals do not have to conform to societal expectations. “I hope that my music is another way of proving that young people do not have to feel they have to fit in just one box. I want them to be encouraged to achieve their dreams and to put their focus into positive things,” he added.

Iwobi’s commitment to using his influence for good resonates with many, as he continues to bridge the gap between sports and the arts. Through his music and public persona, he aims to empower the next generation to embrace their unique paths and stay focused on their aspirations.
