EPL: Worst football from Guardiola’s side – Redknapp slams Man City after Brighton defeat

Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has hit out at Manchester City following their Premier League 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday.

Redknapp was not impressed with City, branding their performance as one of the worst he has seen under their manager Pep Guardiola.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Redknapp said: “That is one of the worst halves of football I have seen from a Pep Guardiola side. They were abject, they didn’t defend, they didn’t win individual battles and they didn’t pass the ball forward at times.

“First half, they were excellent but in the second half, when Hurzeler made the subs, there was only one team that was going to win it.”

Two second half goals from Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley gave Brighton the victory over the visitors.
