BREAKING: Dangote, IPMAN finally reach agreement to lift PMS, others directly

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has finally secured an agreement with Dangote Refinery to lift products directly.

Abubakar Garima, IPMAN National President, announced this on Monday after a meeting of the National Working Committee of the Association in Abuja.

“We’re pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets,” Girima said after meeting Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group.

Garima also expressed confidence that negotiations with Dangote would yield lower rates in terms of pricing.

He urged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, citing backward integration benefits and positive impacts on Nigeria’s Foreign Exchange market.

On Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, the IPMAN President said the Association is preparing for a seamless transition to CNG refill stations nationwide as it is currently negotiating with the presidential CNG initiative

Media Talk Africa learnt that the Dangote Refinery, at the meeting, pledged to commence the supply of products to over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide.

The move is expected to eliminate middlemen, reduce costs and ensure a steady supply.

Media Talk Africa reported that IPMAN had expressed frustration at how difficult it was for marketers to lift products from the Dangote Refinery.

However, IPMAN’s claim was refuted by Dangote Refinery.
