EPL: It’s a shame – De Ligt on Ten Hag’s departure from Man Utd

Manchester United defender, Matthijs de Ligt has branded Erik ten Hag’s departure from the club as a ‘shame.’

Man United had a few weeks ago sacked Ten Hag and appointed Ruben Amorim as the club’s new permanent manager.

Before Amorim’s arrival at Man United on Monday, the Red Devils had appointed Ruud van Nistelrooy to temporarily take charge of the first team.

The Premier League club eventually parted ways with Van Nistelrooy this week.

Speaking on Ten Hag’s exit from Man United, De Ligt insisted that his fellow countryman was not very lucky at Old Trafford.

“Ten Hag has not been very lucky. We played well in many games, but we did not take advantage of the chances we got.

“It is a shame that it had to end like that. He brought me to United, the goal was to achieve success together with Erik,” De Ligt told Telegraaf.
