‘Bat died on my bed day after Edo guber election’ – Gov Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has claimed that a day after the September 21 governorship election in his state, he found a dead bat on his bed.

Okpebholo said the incident happened while he was awaiting the results of the poll but that God Almighty saved him.

He urged Edo residents and other lovers of democracy worldwide to always put their trust only in the Lord without seeking lesser gods.

The Nation reports that Okpebholo, during a praise concert as part of activities for his inauguration and Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, admonished Nigerians and other friends of the country to always hold onto God alone, irrespective of the challenges they face in life.

The praise concert was attended by top politicians, eminent clerics, and many outstanding gospel musicians from across the country.

Edo Governor said: β€œAfter the (governorship) election in Edo State, in the morning of Sunday, September 22, 2024, I came into my room. I met a bat that had died on my bed, without me shooting any arrow, but the Spirit of God was there. The arrow of God settled it. The hand of God delivered me.”

β€œI am also grateful to the men of God who stood in the gap for me. I am grateful to those who believed that with God all things are possible. I will give you one piece of advice: trust in God alone, because He will do it for you.”

Okpebholo further disclosed that he did not consult any native doctor, prophet, or visit any shrine to seek help.
