Adepoju backs Osimhen to break Yekini’s all-time record

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has backed Victor Osimhen to break the team’s all-time top scorers’ record.

The late Rashidi Yekini is currently Nigeria’s all-time top scorer with 37 goals.

Osimhen moved levelled on second position with the legendary Segun Odegbami (23 goals) after scoring in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Benin Republic last Thursday.

The 25-year-old has now set his sights on surpassing Yekini’s mark.

Adepoju believed Osimhen has what it takes to achieve the feat.

“Osimhen has all it takes to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju told SuperSport.

“He’s a very committed player, gives everything for the national team and so it’s very possible for him to break Yekini’s record.”
