La Liga: Leganes coach snubs Mbappe, Vinicius, names favourite Real Madrid player

Leganes head coach, Borja Jimenez has named Luka Modric as his favourite Real Madrid player ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius.

Jimenez spoke ahead of Leganes’ La Liga tie with Real Madrid at the Estadio Municipal Butarque on Sunday.

According to him, Modric has taken both Real Madrid and Croatia to unimaginable heights.

“Favorite Real Madrid player? I think Luka Modrić has shown during these years the ability he has to make teams play. He has taken Real Madrid and Croatia to unimaginable heights,” He said as quoted by Madrid Xtra on X.

“Obviously Vinicius and Mbappe are very talented players but I choose Modrić, I love him at the football level.”

Modric joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.

The Croatian midfielder has made 551 appearances across competitions for the Los Blancos, scoring 39 goals and providing 89 assists.
