Tella eager to play for Super Eagles again

Bayer Leverkusen winger, Nathan Tella is eyeing a return to the Super Eagles, Media Talk Africa reports.

Tella, 25, was first called up by Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November 2023.

The former Burnley star made his debut for the Super Eagles in the 1-1 away draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

The versatile winger has not been called up by the three-time African champions since then.

Tella is, however, determined to get a shot at international football again.

“Of course, it’s an honour to represent your country, but I have to play here more to get the recognition to play with the country,” he told OmaSports TV.

“I think it’s all about the right steps: keep getting better, keep improving and if I continue to do the right things, I hope Nigeria will call me back.”
