Ballon d’Or: Gareth Bale snubs Vinicius Jr, names player to win award after Rodri

Former Wales winger, Gareth Bale, has tipped Kylian Mbappe to win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Vinicius Junior next year.

Vinicius lost out on the award last month to Manchester City’s Rodri.

When asked by TNT Sports who will win the prize next year, Bale said: Kylian Mbappe.”

He added: “It’s just unfortunate that at the moment it’s not quite going Mbappé’s way.

“But I think on his day he’s the best player in the world, and it’s just a matter of time before he comes good.”

Interestingly, Bale did not pick Mbappe to finish as the top scorer in either La Liga or the Champions League, opting for Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane respectively.
