Transfer: South African club, Stellenbosch FC sign Kazie

South African club Stellenbosch FC have completed the signing of Nigerian defender Enyinnaya Kazie on a free transfer.

Kazie last played for Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Rivers United.

The 25-year-old helped Rivers United win their first NPFL title in the 2021/22 season.

The center-back made over 160 appearances for the Port Harcourt-based club.

He has also represented Nigeria at the international level.

“First of all, I want to thank God for bringing me here after a long wait,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m very happy to be here and to be part of the Stellenbosch family.

“It is a great club that has already achieved some great things, like reaching the MTN8 final this season and competing in the CAF Confederation Cup, and I am looking forward to adding to that with my experience.

“I want to contribute positively on the pitch, and I can promise that I will do everything within my reach to ensure that the fans and the coaches are happy.”

Kazie will wear jersey number 16 at his new club.

He is expected to make his official debut for Stellenbosch early next month.
