Tella credits Leverkusen teammates for winning goal against Bayern Munich

Nathan Tella admitted watching teammates Victor Boniface and Patrick Schick played a crucial role in his goal against Bayer Munich.

Tella’s 68th minute strike proved decisive as Xabi Alonso’s side beat rivals Bayern Munich 1-0 in their DFB Pokal clash on Tuesday night

The 25-year-old started the game from the bench and replaced Schick in the 61st minute.

The winger nodded home Alex Grimaldo’s pinpoint cross seven minutes later.

Tella credited Boniface and Schick for the goal.

“I knew once Grimaldo had the ball wide, he was going to deliver into the box,” Tella told the club’s official website.

“I’ve watched Patrick and Victor a lot this season. They’re excellent at positioning between defenders and the post, so I thought if I got into the same position, I’d have a chance. Thankfully, the ball was perfect, and I managed to score.”
