EPL: Southampton coach confirms Onuachu fit to face Tottenham

Southampton manager, Russell Martin, has confirmed Paul Onuachu is available for selection again.

Onuachu has not make an appearance for the Saints since sustaining an injury in the Premier League clash with Liverpool last month.

The South Coast club will welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

Martin revealed the tall striker will be included in the matchday squad for the game.

“Jan Bednarek’s back, Paul Onuachu’s back, which is really good, and apart from that we’re all good,” he told a press conference.

Onuachu is yet to find the net in 16 league appearances since his arrival at the club.

Martin however has kind words for the Nigerian despite his barren run in front of goal

“Paul gives us a real alternative option that’s different to anyone in the squad and most people in the league actually,” he added.

“He was really unfortunate at the timing of his injury as he was in such a good place and was going to really help us I think, and now he’s going to help us moving forwards.”
