Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have announced a crowdfunding campaign to support their former player, Tijani Babangida.

The former winger was involved in ghastly car accident in May.

The accident occured along the Kaduna-Zaria highway in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Babangida’s younger brother, Ibrahim and his son, Fadil, died in the accident.

His wife suffered significant injuries, including the loss of an eye and requiring face reconstruction surgery. The maid also fractured a leg in the incident.

The crowdfunding campaign, initiated by Babangida’s “many good friends from football,” aims to help him cope with the trauma and emotional toll.
