NPFL: Ikorodu City fined N3m for security breach

Ikorodu City has been fined N3m by the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, for the security breach in last weekend’s home clash against Remo Stars.

The encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan ended in a 1-1 draw.

The NPFL ruled that the Lagos club failed to provide adequate security during the South West derby clash.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Remo Stars assistant coach, Kamil Sulaiman was assaulted by Ikorodu City supporters after the game.

The NPFL ordered the Oga Boys to play their next two home games behind closed doors as part of their punishment.

The club have also been ordered to identify and prosecute the individual involved in the assault.
