God wants Nigeria to be land flowing with milk, honey, not desert – Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Nigeria, as a country, has a great destiny.

Obasanjo, who spoke in an interview with Arise News on Monday, stated that the country is destined to flow with milk and honey, adding that the present economic challenges will soon fade away.

He acknowledged that while the country is currently “going through hardship,” Nigerians “should never lose hope. I am an incurable optimist about Nigeria, and we have a great country.”

According to the former president, “Where we are is not where God wants us to be. And I believe that sooner than later, we will get to where God wants us to be.

“God wants Nigeria to be a land flowing with milk and honey, not a desert, not a basket case, not a failed country. We are where we are either through the inadvertent or advertent actions of our leaders and, to some extent, our followers.

“But God is the God of great things for Nigeria. I believe God has great things for Nigeria in the immediate future.”
