NPFL: El-Kanemi Warriors will perform better in second round — Zubairu

El-Kanemi Warriors technical adviser Aliyu Zubairu is optimistic his team will perform better in the second half of the season.

The Maiduguri club have fared well on their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

El-Kanemi finished the first stanza in fifth position with 29 points.

“So far the team has performed averagely well considering the fact that the team just got promoted from NNL but nonetheless, I will say the team has not performed badly even though there is still a big vacuum for improvement,” Zubairu told the club’s media.

Zubairu’s side won the Federation Cup last season and played in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The gaffer refused to set any targets for his team in the current campaign.

“The ultimate target at the end of the season is to finish among the first five. I think that target is more realistic and easily achievable without putting too much pressure on the players and the team as a whole, ” he added.
