Transfer: Nico Williams, Isak, Mbeumo on Arsenal’s shortlist

Arsenal are actively trying to recruit a wide attacking midfielder in the January transfer window, following Bukayo Saka’s hamstring surgery, according to the Daily Mail.

Saka is set to miss at least two months and the report claims the Gunners view Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz as potential options to strengthen out wide.

The Gunners also want to bring in a new No 9, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo all of interest, although they accept signing one of those would be difficult in January.

The report claims the club have also been offered Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who has struggled for playing time with the French giants.

It is believed “money won’t be an issue” for the club’s Kroenke owners, who have invested heavily in the Arsenal squad during Mikel Arteta’s tenure.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing a central midfielder, with Jorginho and Thomas Partey’s contracts due to expire in the summer.
