Ibadan Stampede: Court fixes date for bail of Ooni of Ife’s ex-Queen, Naomi, Oriyomi Hazmat

The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has fixed January 13 to rule on the bail application of ex-Queen of Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola, Oriyomi Hazmat and Abdullahi Fasasi.

Justice K. B Olawoyin fixed the date while presiding over Tuesday’s hearing.

Naomi, Hazmat who is the proprietor of an Ibadan based radio station, Agidigbo FM, and Fasasi who is the Principal, Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan were arrested following a stampede in December.

Over 35 people died during the stampede for food in Ibadan in December.

Counsels to the accuseds’ had filed a summon of application for bail before the Court.

Justice Olawoyin after listening to the submission and arguments of the Counsels, adjourned the ruling on the bail application till Tuesday, 13th Tuesday, 2025.

The suspects are currently being remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre Agodi.
