LaLiga: Vinicius banned for two Real Madrid matches

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior will serve a two-match ban over his red card against Valencia.

The Brazilian will be allowed to play the Spanish Super Cup this week.

However, he will sit out league fixtures against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid after that.

Vinicius was sent off for hitting Valencia keeper Stole Dimitrievski as the LaLiga champions won their first LaLiga fixture of 2025 at the Mestalla.

Hugo Duro gave the hosts the lead in the first half, before a dramatic second-half comeback saw substitute Luka Modric level the game in the 85th minute and Jude Bellingham scored a dramatic added-time winner.

The result meant Real Madrid go ahead of Atlético Madrid at the top of the LaLiga table, two points clear of their rivals and having played a game more.

After the game, Vinicius tweeted, “Sorry, and thanks, team!”
