TCN announces outage in Delta

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced a scheduled three-hour outage in some parts of Delta State.

TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The planned outage is expected to take place on Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm.
According to TCN, the blackout is due to the maintenance of its faulty 132/33 kilovolt transmission substation.

Areas that will be affected by the outage in Delta State include Agbarho/Eku, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Beta Glass, Aladja, Isoko/Kwale, and Imoniyame.

Additionally, customers on the 33kV Effurun, Enerhen, PTI, Sapele, Refinery 1, Refinery 2, and Warri feeders, which emanate from the Effurun Transmission Substation, will also be affected.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) notifies the public that a planned maintenance exercise will be carried out at the Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, from 10 am to 1 pm. The maintenance aims to address a fault on the 132kV Delta1 busbar,” the statement reads.

Media Talk Africa reported that parts of the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State are currently experiencing a two-week outage, which started on Monday, January 6.
