Kwara CP decorates 96 newly promoted officers

The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, has charged 96 newly promoted officers of the command to enhance professionalism in combating crimes and fostering positive community relations in line with international best practices.

He gave the charge at the decoration ceremony of 96 newly promoted senior police officers at the command’s headquarters, Ilorin, including the spokesperson of the command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who was promoted to Superintendent of Police (SP).

The CP noted that the promotion exercise “is a testament to their hard work and dedication to duty, which calls for accountability, greater commitment to safeguarding public safety, and security in Kwara State.”

The notable promotions include:
One officer promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mukaila Yusuf (DPO, C Division).
Fourteen other officers promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) included Olufemi Abraham (O/C Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SCID), Nkama Onyekwere Oko (A/Cmd, Ilofa), Babatunde Lateef (DPO, Afon Division), and 11 others.

Also, four officers promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) are Adetokunbo Aladejare (O/C Legal, SCID), Ihyom Aondongusha (DTO, F Division, Tanke), Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi (PPRO, Kwara Police Command), and Ahmed Bata Mohammed (O/C Provost, 15PMF).

Among 77 officers promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were Orogbemi Dupe (2I/C, Chaplaincy), Yusuf Zaharaddeen Chiri (P.A. to CP Kwara), Idachaba Laraba Enemona (Legal Dept., SCID), and 74 others.

The CP also expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, for putting the welfare of policemen as a top priority.

A statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said, “Kwara Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property while appealing to the public for its continued cooperation in the combat against crime.”
