Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal, has named the club’s former player, Neymar as his football idol.

Yamal said the Brazilian is a legend and totally different from other footballers.

The Spain international also opened up on his encounter with Neymar, who currently plays for Saudi Arabia club, Al Hilal.

“Neymar has always been my idol… a star, a legend,” Yamal told CNN.

“I was five years old when I saw Neymar at Santos… and 7 years old when I saw him at the Camp Nou. It was incredible!”.

“Yes, Messi was there who was also incredible.. Ney was totally different.”

Yamal has been impressive since breaking into the first team at Barcelona.

He also helped his nation, Spain, to win the 2024 Euros in Germany.

The 17-year-old is rated the best young footballer in the world.

Yamal finished 8th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or power rankings.
