Transfer: Ronaldo urges Al-Nassr to sign ex-teammate

Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has urged the club to sign his former teammate Casemiro from Manchester United.

Ronaldo and Casemiro were former teammates during their time at Real Madrid and Man United.

Ronaldo’s own future at Al-Nassr remains uncertain as he is yet to reach an agreement over a new contract with the Saudi Pro League club.

His current deal, which is worth £177 million a year, will expire this summer.

The 39-year-old could leave Al-Nassr as a free agent in the summer.

Al-Nassr are ready to keep Ronaldo at the club but according to Marca, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner wants the team to be significantly strengthened in a bid to compete with Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal for the title.

The report added that one of the players who Ronaldo wants Al-Nassr to sign is Casemiro.

Casemiro joined Manchester United from Real Madrid for £70m deal in 2022.

But the Red Devils now want his £350,000-a-week salary off their wage bill in order to free up funds to help strengthen manager Ruben Amorim’s squad.

It’s yet to be seen if the 32-year-old Brazilian will join Al-Nassr from United.
