FA Cup: 10-man Man Utd beat Arsenal to qualify for next stage

Manchester United on Sunday defeated Arsenal in the FA Cup third round tie to qualify for the next stage.

The match ended 0-0 after the first 45 minutes as both teams failed to score.

However, after the break, Bruno Fernandes put the Red Devils ahead in the 52nd minute.

But the Gunners restored parity, thanks to defender Gabriel’s equaliser.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard missed a penalty during the encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

The match eventually ended 1-1 after 120 minutes as Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second yellow.

Ruben Amorim’s side then won 5-3 via penalty shoot-out after converting all their spot-kick.

The result means Mikel Arteta’s side are now out of the FA Cup competition as United progress.
