NWFL: Edo Queens begin title defence vs Abia Angels

Hostilities will begin on Wednesday (today) in the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, season.

Defending champions, Edo Queens, will lock horns with Abia Angels in the opening fixture at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The match is billed to kick off at 6 p.m.

In the other Group A fixtures, Nasarawa United will battle Dannaz Ladies at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia, while Ekiti Queens will square up with Heartland Queens. Confluence Queens will host Remo Stars Ladies at the Ayingba City Stadium.

The Group B fixtures will see former NWFL champions Rivers Angels trade tackles with Ibom Angels at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Adamawa Queens will take on Naija Ratels at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe.

Benue Queens will open their top-flight campaign with a clash against FC Robo Queens at the Lafia City Stadium, while Bayelsa Queens will battle Delta Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

The top three teams in each group will compete for the 2025 NWFL title in the championship playoffs at the end of the season.
