EPL: Stelling warns Chelsea against signing Man Utd star

Former Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling has warned Chelsea against signing Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

Stelling insisted that the Argentina international is the “last thing” the Premier League’s west London club need.

Chelsea have been linked with a surprising move for Garnacho this January transfer window.

This comes after the 20-year-old winger fell out of favour under new Man United manager Ruben Amorim.

Garnacho was left out of Man United’s squad that defeated Manchester City in the Premier League derby a few weeks ago.

However, Stelling believes Garnacho is not needed at Chelsea due to the surplus of attacking players such as Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

“There’s a story going around in one or two of the papers this morning,” Stelling said on talkSPORT.

“I normally wouldn’t take any notice of it, but it comes from Fabrizio Romano, who is usually pretty close to the mark with transfers.

“It’s about Alejandro Garnacho possibly going to Chelsea. With Neto, Madueke, Sancho… surely a Garnacho is the last thing Chelsea need”

Garnacho has scored 23 goals in 118 appearances for Manchester United since making his first-team debut in 2022.
