Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin is excited with his team’s victory over Ikorodu City.
The Owena Waves defeated Ikorodu City 4-3 in a keenly contested encounter at the Remo Stars Stadium on Saturday.
Alao Dabani netted a brace while Liam Ahmadu and Promise Awosanmi scored a goal each for Sunshine Stars.
Shola Adelani scored two goals, while Alade Solomon grabbed the third for Ikorodu City.
Akinfolarin assured that the team will improve more on their defence in subsequent games.
“It is not a bad result because in the first round we struggled to score goals despite creating enough chances,” Akinfolarin told Sunshine Stars media.
“As you could see, we scored as many as four goals in one game yet it is still work in progress.
“We have seen our lapses, trust us to go back and work on them.”
