Kano pursues APC chairman in court despite arrest of PCACC boss

Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), says the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains under prosecution for alleged bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.

Speaking on Channels Television, PCACC Chairman Muhuyi Rimingado affirmed his commitment to pursuing the case against the former Kano State governor.

He affirmed that he would continue to pursue the case despite his recent arrest, Rimingado stated.

He explained since the investigation began in 2021, he has faced some difficulties , including being removal from office, arrested, detained, assaulted, and humiliated.

“When I came back, I continued from where I stopped. So, I am not witch-hunting anybody,” he added.

A Kano State High Court has adjourned the hearing of preliminary objections in the case to February 13, 2025.

Kano State Government is prosecuting Ganduje on eight-count charge.

These include bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds amounting to billions of Naira.

Aside the former governor, the defendants include his wife, Hafsat Umar, and others: Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.
