Transfer: Chelsea confirm Veiga’s departure from Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have confirmed that defender, Renato Veiga has left the club to join Juventus on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

The Premier League west London club disclosed this in a statement on their website on Monday.

“Chelsea defender Renato Veiga will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Serie A side Juventus,” Chelsea’s statement partly read.

“We look forward to supporting his development throughout the loan. Good luck, Renato!”

Veiga joined the Blues from FC Basel last July and made18 appearances in all competitions this season.

Portuguese was a target for several clubs in Europe but has chosen to swap London for Turin.

The 21-year-old was not playing regularly under Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

He opted for a move away from Chelsea to seek consistent minutes in his preferred position.
