Details of Neymar Jr’s move to Santos as Al-Hilal contract is terminated

Neymar has accepted a wage cut to allow him to join Santos after his £130 million-per-year deal with Al-Hilal was terminated.

The 32-year-old will now sign a short-term deal with his boyhood club.

Neymar has agreed to a six-month contract with Santos, as he aims to rejuvenate his career and secure a spot in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

His new deal includes a base salary of approximately £135,507 (R$1 million) per month.

It will be complemented by up to 90 percent of his image rights.

The structure of this deal is similar to the arrangement from his previous tenure at Santos between 2010 and 2013.

At that time, Neymar earned a base salary of £40,683 (R$300,000), but took home around £429,147 (R$3.3 million) monthly, thanks to retaining 90 percent of his image rights.

The club believes that now Neymar’s earnings could be up to £819,433 (R$6 million) per month.

According to De Primeira via UOL Esporte, that would mean Neymar’s base salary would account for 18 percent of his total earnings per year.
