Transfer: Boniface’s dream of playing with Ronaldo under threat as Al Nassr eye EPL striker

Al Nassr have put their move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface on hold at the last minute, and there is now uncertainty about the transfer, Soccernet reports.

Boniface’s switch to the Saudi Pro League side had appeared all but done after both clubs agreed on a €60 million fee.

Sky Sports Germany reported that the Super Eagles forward had already passed his medical and was looking forward to lining up alongside five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was also claimed that the 24-year-old had reached a full agreement on an annual net wage of €15 million.

However, fresh reports indicate that the deal has suddenly stalled, with Boniface packed and ready to travel to the Middle East.

This is because Al Nassr are also in negotiations with Aston Villa for Jhon Duran.

While Leverkusen is awaiting the final signatures, they have received unconfirmed information that the Saudi club is weighing up either Boniface or Duran — not both.

Duran, 21, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Al Nassr, and his representatives are confident of sealing the move.

Aston Villa have also received a €70 million offer for the Colombian striker.
