LaLiga: Alonso happy to keep Boniface at Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso is delighted to keep forward Victor Boniface at the club, Media Talk Africa reports.

Boniface was close to sealing a big money move to Al Nassr, before the Saudi club opted to sign Aston Villa striker, Jhon Duran.

The Nigerian was left out of Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League clash with Sparta Prague on Wednesday so as not to compromise the deal.

Alonso said the player will now resume training with his teammates after the botched transfer.

“He will train again tomorrow (today). I think he will stay with us,” the former Real Madrid midfielder told ESPN.

“So I have to say that I am satisfied, I am happy.”

“He is comfortable here, so I don’t think this is a big stress for him.”

Die Werkself will return to action against Hoffenheim on Sunday.
