Tella targets Super Eagles recall under Chelle

Bayer Leverkusen star, Nathan Tella is targeting a recall to the Super Eagles, Media Talk Africa reports.

Tella has not been called by Nigeria since making his debut in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in 2023.

The 25-year-old has impressed for Leverkusen in recent outings putting himself in the spotlight again.

Tella scored in Die Werkself’s 2-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Sparta Prague in midweek.

He is keen to get a chance again under new coach Eric Chelle.

“This is not for me to say. Like I said, I’ve never been a player that says ‘I should be called up’.

“On merit, I have to work hard and earn my chances,” the former Southampton player told Oma Sports.

“If the new coach (Eric Chelle) thinks I’ve done enough, then I’d happily accept the call. But, if not, that means I have to work harder.”
