NNL: Abia Comets survive Dakkada scare in Umuahia, draw 2-2

Chinaza Miracle and Wadulu Doukumo sored one goal each on Saturday in Umuahia township as Abia Warriors drew 2-2 with Dakkada Football Club of Akwa Ibom.

Abia Warriors came from behind the get the draw, having trailed the visitors in the match day 8 of the NNL.

The Comets Boys made the first breakthrough with a brilliant finish by Chinaza, whose strike from outside the box beat Dakkada FC goalkeeper in the 14th minute.

However, the visitors went ahead to restore parity and eventually took the lead with two-quick goals in the 27th and 35th minutes, respectively.

In the second half, it was a different atmosphere after head coach, Okechukwu Ejeh, made a couple of substitutions, with the introductions of Ebuka Lazarus and Israel Sunday.

Dakkada was about escaping with victory but Wadulu Doukumo leveled score at 86 minutes from close range as Abia Comets eventually drew 2-2 to the relief of the home fans.

With the draw, Abia Comets next game will be against Igbajo United of Osun in a Southern Conference A Matchday 9 encounter.
