Police recover arms, ammunition during manhunt for suspected kidnappers in Edo

The Edo State Police Command said it recovered one AK-47 rifle with breach number 1972P09108, loaded with 22 rounds of live ammunition during a manhunt for suspected kidnappers in the State.

Media Talk Africa reports that the spokesperson of the Command, Moses Yamu, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Benin City.

Yamu said the arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects after the rescue of three kidnapped victims in the State.

He said operatives of the Command while going after the suspected kidnapppers, recovered the AK-47 rifle in the Okhuesan forest along Okhuesan-Ewohimi road.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities in their localities to the Command or nearest police stations.
