Boko Haram “nightmare” ACP Fika is dead

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a highly respected officer in Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram, has passed away.

He died at the National Hospital, Abuja, at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday.

This was disclosed in a statement by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X handle on Wednesday.

ACP Fika played a crucial role in reclaiming several towns in Yobe and Borno states from Boko Haram insurgents.

As the Commander of Mopol 41, he led joint security operations that significantly weakened terrorist strongholds, including the liberation of his hometown, Fika, from insurgent control.

In 2017, he sustained gunshot injuries during an operation in Yobe State, injuries that required prolonged medical treatment until his passing.
