Football Manager series for 2025 cancelled

The 2025 edition of the Football Manager series, FM25, has been cancelled, according to developer Sports Interactive.

This comes after the game’s release date was pushed back twice.

Its makers have now said they knew the decision would “come as a huge disappointment”.

In an update on Thursday, Sports Interactive explained that it had made the “difficult decision” to cancel the release entirely after “internal discussion and careful consideration with Sega”.

They will now turn their focus to the next release, Football Manager 26, which is expected to be released later this year.

The makers said they were “very sorry” to have “let down” those who had pre-ordered the game.

Football Manager was first released in November 2004. Its most recent release was in stores November 2023.

It became the “most played” in the history of the franchise, with seven million players signing up within 100 days of its release.
