Gombe govt imposes night curfew after rising security threat

The Gombe State Police Command has imposed a night curfew, restricting movement between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m, starting from Friday, February 7, 2025.

In a statement on his Facebook page on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, announced the enforcement of the curfew, citing rising security threats in the area.

The statement reads, “The restriction on movement is in response to the increasing security threats facing the people of Gombe, and the police are fully prepared to address the situation.”

DSP Buhari emphasized that the police will prioritize the safety of lives and property in the state to ensure Gombe remains secure.

He called on the public to cooperate with the curfew and urged parents to warn their children to avoid violating the order, warning that those caught breaking the curfew would face strict consequences.
