USAID: He should be fired immediately — Trump blasts Washington Post columnist Eugene

US President Donald Trump has called for the firing of Washington Post columnist Eugene Harold Robinson following the journalist’s criticism of Trump’s controversial decision to shut down the US Agency for International Development, USAID.

Robinson, in a story titled “These Republicans Should Be Ashamed of Themselves”, published on Thursday afternoon, said Trump “tramples” on the Constitution and is making “unacceptable choices” for his administration, but congressional Republicans are too scared to push back.

In the publication, the journalist also criticised Trump’s recent executive order that halted foreign aid to African countries.

Reacting, Trump took to his official account on Truth Social on Friday to fire back at the columnist.

Trump, who described Eugene Robinson as incompetent, wondered why he would justify the “waste, fraud, and corruption at USAID.”

He wrote: “Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post is INCOMPETENT! So sad to see him trying to justify the waste, fraud, and corruption at USAID with his pathetic Radical Left SPIN. He should be fired immediately!”
