Police, NCCSALW reaffirm commitment to combat crimes in small arms, light weapons in Niger

The Niger State Police Command and the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, NCCSALW, have reaffirmed their commitment to partnering in the fight against criminal activities involving small arms and light weapons.

During a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman in Minna, the Zonal Coordinator of NCCSALW, North Central Zone, Maj. Gen. H.I Bature (Rtd), commended the police command for its proactive approach to tackling crime and criminality in the state.

Maj. Gen. Bature expressed gratitude for the police command’s support over time and requested continued collaboration.

He emphasized the importance of their partnership in addressing the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, which is crucial to maintaining peace and stability in the state.

In response, CP Danmamman assured Maj. Gen. Bature of the command’s willingness to collaborate with NCCSALW.

He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to combat the menace of small arms and light weapons, which has been a major challenge to security agencies in the state.

The Commissioner also said he was looking forward to NCCSALW establishing a permanent office in Niger State, which would enhance their collaboration and facilitate more effective joint operations.
