EPL: Title race still alive after Liverpool’s draw at Everton – Tim Sherwood

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Tim Sherwood, has said Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Everton means the Premier League title race is still alive.

Beto gave the Toffees the lead in the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison.

But Arne Slot’s men were level within four minutes, after Alexis MacAllister found space inside the box to head past Jordan Pickford.

Mohamed Salah appeared to have won the game with a smart finish in the second half, but James Tarkowski lashed in a late equalizer.

Sherwood, speaking on Soccer Special, said: “It keeps it open, in my opinion. Seven points.

“It’s still a big gap, of course it is. But nine would have been too much. Seven keeps it alive.

“Not only are they celebrating in the blue half of Merseyside tonight, Liverpool will feel like it’s a defeat because it’s come so late in the day.”
